Produced from 100% Barbera grapes grown on the calcareous clay marl soils surrounding the Bonfante winery in Nizza Monferrato. Half of the harvest undergoes cold maceration to enhance fruit purity and extract noble aromatic compounds, while the remaining half follows traditional fermentation with around 10 days of skin contact. The wine is then aged for 10 months, with 50% maturing in large Slavonian oak casks and 50% in used French oak barriques. This combination adds complexity, subtle spice and refined tannins while preserving the vibrant fruit character of Barbera.
A rich and elegant red wine with a deep purple-red colour and remarkable intensity. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of ripe cherries, morello cherries and red berries, complemented by delicate notes of vanilla and sweet spice from oak ageing. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied and beautifully structured, with Barbera's signature lively acidity balancing its generous fruit. Well-integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish create a wine that is both powerful and exceptionally drinkable.
