Dating back to 1625, Château Pindefleurs is a historic family-owned estate situated just outside the medieval village of Saint-Émilion. Since 2006, the Lauret family has revitalized the property while preserving its heritage, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern winemaking techniques.

Winemaking

The 2020 vintage followed a warm growing season, producing grapes of outstanding ripeness and concentration while retaining freshness. Grapes were harvested entirely by hand and carefully sorted before fermentation. Vinification included approximately 20 days of maceration with gentle extraction and minimal sulphur addition to preserve fruit purity. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, adding complexity while maintaining balance and finesse.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, Château Pindefleurs 2020 opens with expressive aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, and subtle hints of vanilla, cedar, and sweet spice. The palate is rich yet remarkably refined, offering silky tannins, vibrant dark fruit, notes of cocoa and licorice, and a fresh mineral backbone. Beautifully balanced, it finishes long and elegant, showcasing the finesse and freshness that define the outstanding 2020 vintage.
